The content industry is once again going through massive change: tech layoffs, the explosion of AI, and a transition to the next generation of content and marketing leadership. Content strategy, content development, content operations, content distribution — pulling together these individual areas into a cohesive and workable process across multiple departments feels like an insurmountable challenge.
For the past few years, I have been noodling on this idea of creating an educational platform for the next generation of content leaders: Mentoring, teaching, and consulting on these key content areas to better equip those in the trenches and leading the charge within their organizations. But something held me back from moving forward on this idea. It always felt just a bit daunting to tackle all of these areas on my own. By themselves, each area of the content landscape is a big undertaking. And let’s face it, there is a connecting thread that runs through strategy, development, operations, and distribution that really requires them to work cohesively vs. as separate topics. What was holding me back was that I really didn’t want to take this on solo. I needed a team.
If Two Heads Are Better Than One…
… what happens when you put three experienced content pros together? Our little content universe expands exponentially. Erika Heald, Carmen Hill, and I collectively bring decades of experience and skills that expand across all of these areas in the content universe. From the front lines of tactical development — writing, editing, creating — to the strategic skills of planning, producing efficiencies, and collaborating cross-functionally, this content trifecta has the ability to help content teams from every angle of this universe.
Bringing Order to CAOS
We get it. We’ve been there. We still are “there.” Content as a discipline is going through massive change. Change brings about a feeling of chaos. Bringing a sense of order to this chaotic, changing world is exactly what we want to do. I am thrilled to be working alongside these two amazing, talented, and giving women. Though we may come at our content work from different backgrounds and experiences, the one common denominator is our love for this industry and desire to support those within it.
The Content Academy for Operations and Strategy is our way of bringing order to chaos. We hope you will join us on this journey.
